Microsoft Partner Program: EMC Activities

As a formal member of Microsoft's Partner Program, EMC has chosen the .NET 2005 platform for the development and deployment of its new products and services to support the exhibition and conference industry. These exciting new solutions use the following core Microsoft technologies and server products to help EMC meet its aims:

• Microsoft .NET 2005 development platform (ASP.NET with C#)
• Microsoft SQL Server 2003
• Microsoft server operating systems and Internet Information Server

 
Current Projects

EMC has a continuing program of rollouts of new and updated products, in order to maintain its market leading position in the delivery of online event management solutions. A number of longer term products are currently in development, with planned availability as estimated below:

• Online show guide and product promotion system [Q3 2006]

  An emsystem module for the collection and distribution of exhibitor information that is typically published in exhibition catalogs and event Web sites. It includes automated data feeds to third party systems for the deployment of up-to-date show information for attendees.

• Integrated secure payment gateway for online credit card processing [Q3 2006]

  This application consists of a fully configurable payment management system for the secure collection of credit card payment information that is passed to third party payment processors for merchant account clearance. Exhibitor orders for services can now be directed to secure processors such as Verisign (USA) and Protx (UK) for immediate validation, authorization and transfer of funds.

• Freight transportation online quotation and ordering system [Q4 2006]

  In order to support exhibitors' needs for transporting exhibits and goods to and from exhibition venues, EMC has developed a comprehensive online freight quotation and management application. Exhibitors can receive immediate quotations, place orders and make payments for their shipments. Orders are routed directly into various carrier systems to streamline the process of shipping and tracking.

• Online exhibitor service management system for exhibition contractors and vendors [Q1 2007]

  Complementing EMC's emsystem for show managers, this application allows general service contractors and exhibition service vendors to offer their customers a single point of access for ordering products and services.
